Went to the Natural History Museum

Saturday 18th
Left Aaron at home today to nurse his cold and watch the rugby.
Kids and I set off on bus and overland train and bus to the Geffrye Museum of the home in Hoxton, showcasing the living areas of the middle classes from the 1600's until today

Afterwards we caught a bus back across London Bridge to the delights of the Borough Market

Pimms with it's full quota of salad for 18 pounds a jug

Truffles stink!

When we had sampled enough, we bought the most devine chewy, moist baguette to munch on and made our way to Westminster.

Of course we had to stop at Horseguards,

then as we were already at the park we had to go and spend an hour or two feeding squirrels and marvelling at the feet of a moorhen.

Finally dragged them away and it was up to trafalgar square

where West End Live was in full swing.

Awesome venue for a live show

Stayed for an hour or so before leaving to go back to horseguards for the 4pm dismounting ceremony.

Despite threatening to rain all week, it has remained mostly fine for our week in London. As we put on our coats in the morning, I have to keep reminding myself that it is summer.  It is going to take a bit of getting used to, seeing the sun not come out until 6pm.
