Wednesday & Thursday London

Wednesday 15th
Amazingly the sun is shining this morning so we set off on a bus to watch the changing of the guard.

Arrive at St James's Palace in good time and listen to the band play the theme from Dallas before they head down the Mall to the Palace.

Walk back through St James's gardens to feed the squirrels.

Make the requisite stop at horseguards then on to the Lord Moon pub for a beef burger lunch.

Then we got a tube to Hampstead Heath to visit the free zoo and see the lemurs

Back to East Ham and took the kids for a play session at the rather good park over the road.

Thursday
Weather not looking so good this morning so a museum might be on the cards.
First thing was a trip to Tower Bridge to see the scheduled opening at 10.45.
Easy trip on the tube and a short walk down to the Tower.

Took the DLR to docklands to visit the London Museum.

Back on the DLR into the city to get some lunch, then as we were nearby, took the lift up One New Change to get a good view of St Pauls.

tube to Stratford to Olympic Park to go to the tumbling bay playground. As there was no signage it took quite some time to find it, and we detoured via the swimming centre and stadium, as well as a view of the orbit.
Finally located the playground and lets the kids go wild for a bit.

the a fair hike back to Stratford to get the bus home, arriving conveniently just as the rain started.
