Pleasant morning at Barbon with Evan and Gill enjoying the view of the snow/sleet up on the fell through the fairly heavy rain, and we set off around 10am.
Stopped in Skipton for a bit of a look and a snack (still in the rain) before continuing on our way to Thornton Le Dale where our cosy Saw Mill conversion was waiting for us.
Thursday 23rd March
Gorgeous sunny clear morning! We drove across to Harrogate where we looked around the town and visited the pump museum, then returned via Knaresborough.
Friday 24th March
Second day in a row with clear skies and today super sunny, though there is an early frost. Aaron is catching the train to London then Eurostar to Belgium and Aachen, so we are up at 7am to drive to the station. Kids and I are back home soon after 8am and later in the morning we head back into York to have a walk on the walls and a look around.
We end up doing some filming of our walk and have to return to the car to move it at the 2 hour mark. Glorious day for walking .

Saturday 25th March
Saturday dawns sunny and promises to get up to 14 or more degrees. We drive across to Rievaulx Abbey, stopping for a glimpse of Castle Howard on the way.

The place is packed and we have to find a park along a narrow laneway and queue for our entrance. The falconry is being done by Raphael Historic Falconry and they do a great job. Holly gets to help out for one of the displays being the hunted pheasant.
We end up staying for the whole afternoon and watching all 3 displays in between times having a good look around the abbey grounds and a walk through the little village.
Return home via Malton and the Morrisons where we manage to snag the coveted lemon chickens for dinner.
